"From the moment I met Alison with her beaming smile I knew Red Sails Homecare was right for Dad! Alison has been totally committed to finding the best qualified carers to accommodate Dad’s needs."
Lindsey, Christchurch

Red Sails provides Live-in care for as long as a client requires. We also provide care for short periods. This might be for holiday cover, to fill in for a regular carer who is taking a break or possibly while someone is recovering from an illness or a stay in hospital. We can also provide care for a few days each week for our local clients.
If a care home is the right solution, Live-in care allows a window of time to source the care home of your choice.

How live-in care works
Care  is different for every client depending on the level of care that’s required. However, standard services we provide cover the following:

Meals, Housework, Shopping, Laundry, Help with pets, Driving, Help at night, Companionship, Washing, bathing - Getting dressed, Ensuring medicines are taken at the right time and Accompanying to doctors or hospital appointments.
Each client’s requirements are discussed so that the care they receive meets their individual needs.

Consistent Care
Our careers are selected carefully and interviewed and referenced thoroughly. Although live-in carers require no formal qualifications, experience and relevant training is desirable. As well as capability and the ability to run a household, our primary requirement is a caring attitude giving a service which enables our clients to maintain independence, security and dignity in their own home. Some of our clients may suffer from mental or physical disabilities and in these cases they will require a carer with relevant experience or
training.

The cost of care
Cost for Live-in care is generally less than a care home. Each client’s requirements may be different, and costs vary accordingly.

Paying for care with us

Live-in care costs vary according to the level of care required. If you would like us to provide an outline of the charges involved, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss the costs of live-in care in relation to your needs.

Live-in care costs

We are aware that when you are looking at care options, the cost of care will have an impact on your final decision.  Live-in care is similar in price to many residential or nursing homes and it can also provide better value for money than many hourly care services.

Red Sails works as an introductory agency.  We introduce suitable, full-time care assistants who live-in with you, working for you, carrying out your instructions.

Your carer will be registered as self-employed and will expect to be paid directly at the end of her assignment by you, or a third party such as a power of attorney, accountant, solicitor or family member.

Before we introduce a carer to you it’s important to think carefully about what tasks you need to be carried out. The description of these tasks will form the basis of the agreement between you and the carers we introduce to you. The cost will vary depending on the level of care needed.  It is generally comprises the carer’s fee, their travel expenses and our own fee for setting up, managing and maintaining the introductory process.  In total, it ranges from £750.00 to £900.00 a week.

There is a one off registration fee of £120 and we make no charge for visiting you to assess your needs and wishes.

Our agency fee is fixed for the first year and reviewed annually thereafter.

Costs are discussed in detail in our literature which can be posted or emailed to you.
